Celebrity Styles Get Ethical

Aug 29th, 2011

Celebrity styles, including those of Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham, are getting a ethical fashion make over as part of the launch of the E17 Art Trail next week (Thursday 1st September 2011).

Victoria Beckham's Collection

In an attempt to prove ethical fashion is just as stylish as anything you’ll find celebrities wearing, ethical fashion brand, Ms Wanda’s Wardrobe, will be recreating key looks from Kate Moss, and Victoria Beckham to fictional glamour puss, Joan Holloway from Mad Men.

The looks will be created from Ms Wanda’s Wardrobe autumn/winter collection, which features ethical labels such as Tara Starlet and Round London, as well as vintage and pre-loved clothing. Each piece will also have an affordable price tag so they are in the reach of the most budget conscious fashionistas.

Esther Freeman, Creative Director at Ms Wanda’s Wardrobe, said: “The rise of the fast fashion industry over recent years has had a devastating effect on the environment, as well as human rights. While the ethical fashion movement is growing, and consumers are starting to demand more transparency from their favourite brands, there are still blocks in making it the norm. One of these blocks is the myth that ethical fashion is about hemp and tie dye. The sustainable celebrity style collection aims to address this, and show that ethical can also be beautiful.”

The sustainable celebrity style collection previews at a VIP launch party in a pop up shop will then be available to the public the following day and for the duration of the E17 Art Trail (2nd – 11th September, 2011) from the same pop up shop. There will also be a range of other ethical clothing and accessory labels to choose from, including Sweet Notions, Plastic Seconds and Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

The E17 Art Trail is now in its 7th year. It brings together artists and designers from across E17 for a limited period. This year around 300 people will be taking part. It is the first time Ms Wanda’s Wardrobe has exhibited on the Art Trail.
